I want to thank those of you who did help to make this history happen in the USA. I was fortunate to be able to send in my ballot to Florida (from Ireland). I am so PROUD of American’s for this and will finally be able to hold my head high again as an American abroad and at home. Ya -frikkin – hoooooooooo!!!!!!! Yipeeee!!! Alleluhia!! Amen!!!

This morning I was phoned from the Kafe where I hang my art and I sold my Big Fishy painting for 90euros! Whooopieee! yahoo! It was hard to let go of, I must say, but there is just no room in this apt. for all the paintings I do.

Hi all. Sorry I was away for so long! I kept painting and feel I grew as an artist this summer. I did lot’s of skething and drawing in the parks and around the town. I hope you all enjoy something new here from me. Got loads of art supplies for the long winter ahead! :)

So far, I’ve painted from photos.
I have painted copies from the masters.
Copies from other artists ideas.
I just run out of ideas.
Either that, or I just paint too fast.
I tend to be impatient.
Any suggestions?

p.s. – Our digital camera broke, so I haven’t been unloading my paintings, but I am still painting. :)

or “Goldy Locks and the Three Bears”

This is the toughest part as I come up to my exhibit.
Pricing it “too high” strikes fear in my heart.
And then pricing it “too low”, that’s just bad too.
How does one get it JUST RIGHT?

I am having my first solo art exhibit at the Westside Library in Galway, Ireland.
April 1 – 30, 2008

Opening Reception: April 1st, 6pm – 7:30pm

I know the room will be full, because I have married into a large Irish Catholic family.

I am personally so impressed with this man, Nick Cave, who is a singer/songwriter. I found this letter posted on his web site and would like to share it with those of us on the bubble who could be getting dangerously caught up in “competition” in a way that could work against ourselves and our expressiveness.

It’s called “Drawing to Painting”. Seems like we will be doing exercises from “Drawing from the left side of the Brain” type stuff. I need this to loosen up, get out of my head.
I already feel the creative juices flowing!!

We have homework too;

Draw an object with your left hand. Then with your right hand.
Draw same object without looking down at the paper (not easy)
