Irish Art
I am an American, now living in Galway with my husband who is from Co. Mayo. At age 18, I studied art at Temple University in Philadelphia for two years. My life took other avenues of creating such as massage therapy and music. Moving to Ireland coincided with a reawakening of my passion for painting and in the past year, I have completed over one hundred paintings. Landscapes and environments are major influences on my work. My favorite medium is oil on canvas. I have been told that I have somewhat of a ”folk-art ”style.
Currently, I am taking a class at the Galway Arts Center. There, I am revisiting much valued information about the importance of sketch, composition, light and shadow.
A local business woman, Crystal, who owns and operates Café Luna is a great supporter of local artists and she has sold many of my paintings.
My first solo art exhibit is April 1-30, 2008 at the Westside Library in Galway. I am going to present my new work at my second solo art show March 1 – 30, 2009 at the Galway city Library.
Thank you for viewing my art and please enjoy.
