Free Will, Are you SURE?

Written on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 by John Thomas

So…here is how I have worked it out in my mind.

I will use the word God while writing about this. I want to make it clear that my concept of God is not in the traditional sense at all. Many words could be used instead. Allah, Yahweh, Universe, Carma, Positive Energy, Spirit, Heart, Love, …etc.

We are trapped in an illusion of linear time! {In the linear view, time flows like a conveyor belt that moves horizontally from past to present to future at the same unchangeable speed for all of us. (See Edward T. Hall, The Dance of Life (New York: Doubleday, 1983), pp. 78-9.) Time feels out of our control; we may feel some helplessness, and think we can only adapt to this ‘reality’.}

(“In the theory of relativity, the concept of time begins with the Big Bang the same way as parallels of latitude begin at the North Pole. You cannot go further north than the North Pole,” says Kari Enqvist, Professor of Cosmology.)

No matter how you look at you need some spiritual belief or philosophy to wrap your mind around what was before the big bang. (In our linear view)

God is not subject to this illusion. String theory tells us their may be infinite parallel universes. See The Elegant Universe

Many of them have another me making different decisions and choosing different paths. (Perhaps, when we become spirit again we think we will unite with the other bits of my spirit from all the universes and glean what we have learned.)

God (Us as pure spirit) can see all outcomes of all possible decisions just as easily as you and I can look down the road. I view free will as a responsibility to the light. I see how my positive decisions help people and how the negative ones hurt them. I am master of my fate yet I know that God, (The spirit in me) knows all possible outcomes of all possible decisions I could make because, from the view of God, they are all visible at once. When I fearlessly act on and relate to others from my heart I am tapping into Gods omnipotent knowledge as best I can with my finite feeble mind.

This is how God knows what we will do before we do it.
That is why I heed little signs that direct my choices.(See Celestine Prophecy, good work of fiction on that subject) I do make my decisions without fear cause I know if my intentions are pure even my mistakes can be redirected.
