My Sweet Contagion

She killed me all night long

Inoculating me slowly, rhythmically with her poison

So beautiful

A surprisingly seductive, unexpectedly sultry

Reaper

Raven-haired thing

Long, cool, soft

Darkest of eyes

Each an abyssal all its own

Her body, silvery blue

Reflecting lunar glow

In my room, entangled around me

That windy, noisy night

And this was to be my nemesis

This, my monster

No claws, no fangs, no wretched stench

Nothing indicative of foreboding danger

How unfortunate are we

In our inability to recognize one’s final adversary

How are we to know

I heard she’s gone now

I’m scared

I am so scared
