Intha people living on and around Inle Lake in Burma’s Shan State, have perfected the skill of rowing with one leg while balancing on the other. This method is a more powerful way of rowing than the usual one. I am waiting to see the skulling teams of the west stand up and row like real men. Taken in 1984 while sitting very still in the front of the very tipsy craft, with a Nikon FM2, nikkor 28mm lense and kodachrome slide film. Scanned at 3600 dpi with a Plustek slide scanner, and cleaned in photoshop.

Really cool shot, doesn’t seem all that practical though.
thanks Carolyn. Once you get your balance, it is actually a better way to paddle as a leg is much stronger than an arm.

Awesome shot. The perpective adds to it so much!
As you can imagine, I saw sitting pretty still, even though his balance was amazing. It was a 28mm lens, shot on kodachrome slide film.
