gottheshot
I know you were trying to ‘get more perfect than this’ but I told ya – you just cant.
The water is ‘dripping off’ the photo. The sillouhette is perfection all along the ‘back’ of the shot. The little ball of a sun, the faces with the water reflections.
Its a travesty as to how this shot has not been commented on before me :o)
WELL DONE !!The water is like a painting. The abstract reflections of the kid on the left are PRICELESS. The clarity of the kids eyes and faces as a whole :o)))))

Thanks gottheshot, I was wondering about the lack of interest in this shot myself. I am really happy the way the water looks ‘molten’ in the foreground.

This is such an incredible capture. I love the openness, and the golden tones make this photo so dreamy, moody and surreal. Love the reflections and the calmness of the water. Just gorgeous!

Thanks josiem, it was a lovely sunset. I was camping on the riverbank that night so this shot holds nice memories.

I will agree with everything gottheshot said above! The water is stunning in this shot, and the effect it gives is amazing, it really is as almost it will start pouring out :) everything else on this image is superb!
How did you get their faces so lit?
John Spies replied
Thanks Gato, the truth is I took this with my holiday camera, a small Sony 6 megapix point and shoot with an in camera flash…which I have since drowned, so I upgraded to an Olympus 1030SW which suits my rough lifestyle a lot better, and it takes surprisingly nice shots, inc macro (eg ‘Pumpkin’)

I was just talking to my friend another day, about a photographer I know, that has tons of professional equipment, but always has his olympus point and shoot camera with him in his pocket. and the photos he takes with this camera are amazing… so for me its the photographer that counts most, not the equipment. And you prove that perfectly with this image! ;)

I commented on a pic in RB a few days ago, and it was a very average landscape scene but a beautiful photo, and I said much the same thing – it is the photographer that counts. Sometimes though, it is just luck, being in the right place with camera in hand, and its hard to beat a small auto for portability.
