Windsor Newton watercolor on Arches 140lb cold press.
I have been avoiding watercolors for years and I decided it was time to give them a serious try. I attempted before but was not happy with the results because you can’t control them like you can most media. Well I was wrong, you just have to know how, This is the beginning of my learning process so I hope you will bear with me and excuse any noticeabe mistakes I make.
This time I tried putting in more trees in the foreground, I am not used to using such a small surface 9″×6″.

watercolor, trees, snow, hillside, winter, cold, diane johnson mosley, traditional
Like most of us here, I was born to create. I am not happy with myself or others if I can’t. I am a lover of sience, fantasy and nature and I don’t think I could ever create anything as wonderous as our natural world but I can try.

Very Nice Diane! This reminds me so much of a run at Wolf Creek Ski Area it’s uncanny. I especially like the tones of the shadows in the foreground snow and the sky and the perspective really portrays the feeling of a steep mountain slope.
Wow, great critique. Thank you so very much my friend!
