The South Western corner of Western Australia has an abundance of bird life. This New Holland Honeyeater was used to humans in the area and I was able to get close to capture this shot.
This photo was taken at Nornalup beside the Frankland River.
It is a very picturesque area with the Valley of the Giants, William Bay National Park and many lakes & rivers.

Another great shot John. Now I’m thinking that I want that special close-up lens.

  • Thanks Michael for the comments. This was taken on holidays in WA, so I had to pack lightly! But this 50-200 Olympus Zuiko is superb!

Fantastic close up! Even if they are used to humans still a hard capture due to how quickly they move. Great composition, congrats!

  • Thanks for the kind words Matt. They are very elusive and flighty, and just when you think you have a good shot, they depart! Luckily I was in the right spot this particular right time.
    Thanks again.
