Bird on a Wire by John Sharp

A Scarlet Robin sits on the wire of a farm fence. This was one of a group of birds that included Flame Robins and Scarlet Robins. The Scarlet Robins are similar to the Flame Robins, but have black rather than grey backs and a larger white area on the forehead. They also have a red breast compared to an orange-red breast Flame Robin. These small birds migrate from Tasmania to South-East Victoria in the Winter.
Anglesea (Forest Rd). Victoria. Australia.

What a lovely looking bird! Superb shot John!

  • Thank you Arfan. These birds migrate from Tasmania during the Winter, so I was really happy to get a shot on a nice sunny day.
