Lanarch Castle, Otago Peninsula, Dunedin, NZ. by

Lanarch Castle was built near Dunedin in the late 18th century. The Lanarch family suffered a tragic history and the building decayed until saved and restored during the 1960s. The surrounding garden is acclaimed as one of New Zealand’s “Gardens of National Significance”.

Excellent capture John! They had begonias as the border when we were there in April! Lovely shot!

We hope to go back in April 2011 to see the countryside in Autumn.
This time we will hire a car/motorhome so that we can go at our own pace and I can take a better selection of lenses.

I’ll look forward to seeing them through a proper camera lens next year!!

  • Yes-my new Olympus E5 arrives on Friday week. I will keep my excellent E3 in my camera bag as the base of my tele lenses- and retire my great E1 and E20 to my former cameras museum. Some of my best images were made on the 5 Mp E20 and E1 and it is a shame that technology has superseded them,
