I’ve spent 2 days at this location trying to capture the different moods from dawn to dusk, and I think I have managed to grab a couple of nice shots. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did with my time at this beautiful place :)

The Black Sage Rd., running from Oliver to Osoyoos, BC, Canada, is a desert scenic beauty. It is also a favorite spot for many wine lovers since this is where many vineyards are located. I would have to spend a few days along this drive again when the grapes are in and during harvest.

The ruins of a house and barn dates back to the time when cattle ranching was king in this area. The buildings belonged to Val Haynes, son of the colourful Judge John Haynes who was a law-and-order peace officer, the first customs official at the Osoyoos border crossing, and a cattle baron. This is now a protected historical site.

I love the little edge of reflection here, the colors are perfect here

  • The sun just peeped through the clouds setting the highlight on the weeds made the picture came alive. Thanks :)

Oops … sorry, I didn’t read far enough into your writing. If it is in the Great Plains states and provences, please consider entering it in Great Plains of North American. Check out the rules because I don’t know everything about Canada. Barb

  • Thank you so much for the invite, Barbara! Alas, BC is one province too far to the left.

In my groups John, my hosts and I choose that extra special image that may have been accepted during the week, OR even from files way back that are even more special than giving a feature. We have different names for them in different groups such as this one they are Oldies But Goodies. In Alberta group they are Wild Rose Picks etc.

  • Thanks for walking me through my Noobness, Vickie. I will proudly display this on my front page :)

that’s OK John, I don’t mind, I know you are a newbie :-)) It wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t understand how special these are :-))
