We were all moping about the house
Me, my ego, my id and the dog
I suggested we go on a picnic
To the country

Everybody was excited
As I collected the lead for the dog

Driving along the freeway we heard just one
“Fucking idiot”
I’m sure it was directed at me
’Cause I was the one driving
Usually we hear many more such
Criticisms

The dog had her head outside the window
So perhaps the insult was directed at her

It was also Sunday

We arrived at a beautiful spot
Rolling pastures, lots of trees and flowing grass

My ego, id and the dog all wanted to go exploring
I said…………….
Fine
Just don’t go far
Lunch won’t take long

Off they went to have fun together
My ego, id and dog

Alone, I spread out sandwiches and lemonade
And water for the dog

Soon I called them all back for lunch

After cake they had another play

As we drove home
Back along the freeway
We were all happy
