Here we have races where the horses jump over ‘jumps’. They are forever breaking legs and being ‘put down’ – a nicer term than destroyed. Those who love it say the horses do too. Until they get a bullet.
Yes. We had a group of “polo ponies” all drop dead the same day : everyone is mum about why…drugs, most likely. I will not watch any form of horse racing after seeing a horse actually trying to run with broken legs. They are trusting, and we shoot horses, don’t we.

Don’t get me started…it is “steeplechasing,” no? Or do they have them jumping over steeples now…
