Optophobia: The Fear of Opening One's Eyes by

A conceptual piece illustrating a phobia. After deciding upon an intriguing phobia, the image content was developed in a series of sketches, then I photographed a model and created the final painting using the reference. This is one of my all-time favorite paintings. Please note the if you are interested in buying the original painting, the actual image on canvas has a 1" border around it, very suitable for framing. Oil on canvas board, 11″ × 14″. ©2001, 2012 John Ashton Golden.
