Wow John – I’m surprised! This works really well in black and white! Cool shot – I love this shot.

  • Thank you Jan, me too. I’ve been experimenting.

Very reminiscent of Peter Lik! The B&W really makes this one stand out!

    Well done!

  • Thank you Jeremy, I’ll have to go look up Peter Lik.

I wasn’t expecting this…I always see this type of shot in color…BUT, your conversion is really good and really lets you concentrate on the form of the rock rather than the colors. Nice, John!

  • Thank you Leslie, I was happy with how this on turned out.

Awesome. I hope to get there in a couple of weeks. We have a quick trip to that area planned.

  • Awesome! Enjoy it. Take extra batteries, tripod, wide zoom. And go at noon for the vertical light shafts. I can’t wait to see your results.

I think the textures in the rocks look great in B&W so its still a super image, but you know I’m a colour man!!!!!! and the light and colour in the original is excellent.

  • Hi Rich, thank you. Yes, we see in color and think in color but I had to see what I could come up with here. ;-)
