I found this at the side of the road on the way to Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is one of my favorite images from that trip. I might not have made this image except for my wife’s interest in the tree formation, so her eye deserves as much credit as anything else.

We printed this at 20″×30″ and put it on the wall at home.

Beautiful, John! I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t visited Cade’s Cove even though we live fairly close – in Brevard, NC. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us.
Thank you. It is a truly beautiful place, it is no surprise it is the most visited park in the U.S. I suggest you go early in the day and during off-peak season though.

There is a hiking trail I used to take that looks like this…LOVE it when the woods seem to just surround you, love this!
