Artist's Description

The View From “Symond’s Yat Rock” is a spectacular panorama over the south Herefordshire countryside. Symmond was a Yorkshireman who charged a toll for travellers along this part of the River Wye. Yat is a Yorkshire dialect word for gate, so his “toll-gate” became known as Symond’s Yat. The rock is a vantage point from which you can see four counties.
