The Note.

Upon her windshield,
I left a tiny note.
In a trembling, honest hand,
These are the words I wrote:

“I love you because my heart,
Tells me I have no choice.
Though for now I cannot tell you,
For I cannot find my voice.

You send me all a’shiver,
On the hottest summer nights,
I dream of you, and my eyes brighten,
As you come and dim the lights.

Maybe someday, together,
We’ll find each other this way,
For now, I am where I need to be,
But that doesn’t mean I’ll stay."

That line, “I love you because my heart tells me I have no choice”….is just absolutely gorgeous…and oh how I know that feeling.

  • Thank you for your comment Laurie! Sometimes love can be so complicated, most especially when your heart is so certain but you hesitate or have to wait. :)
