New Women’s Chiffon Tops. They’re just so chiffon-y.

Just To See Her Face

I had seen her on a Wednesday,
Red shoes crossing the wet street.
Blonde hair, blue eyes, red shoes,
Long raincoat down to her feet.

She passed into a little shop,
Curios and books on every surface.
Knickknacks, books, curios,
Preventing me from seeing her face.

I peeked around so I could see,
Tender hands caressing old spines.
Subtle humming, idle thoughts, tender hands,
My heartbeat keeping the time.

She came around the corner,
Little smile as she brushed against me.
Eyelashes, pink lips, little smile,
Make me feel like I want to be…

She thanked the woman at the door,
Little bells jingling as she stepped out.
Squeaky hinge, silent steps, little bells,
Subtle as a shadow of doubt.

Sadly,

I had seen her on a Wednesday,
Red shoes crossing the wet street.
Blonde hair, blue eyes, red shoes,
Never again, would we two meet.
