Woven by Night

A brief glimpse of the timeless, borderless tapestry of my sleeping mind…

(To my soulmate Cathy, who shares my life and my dreams)

When the night is still,
And the sound of waves
On the shore brings peace,
A new world awaits me,
Where time has no borders,
Death has no sting,
Life has no limits at all -
Past, present, future, weave
Their rich tapestries at will.
Old friends ever young,
Grown children still small,
And love’s sweet thrill
Of times long ago but
Always here, always real.
Yet the night seems so short
And with dawn’s early light,
Reality breaks the thread
Of inter-woven fantasies.
But the day holds new hopes,
And takes me on paths
Where only fate rules –
Until the night falls.
