John Mikkelsen is a semi-retired journalist who does freelance work and writes a weekly newspaper column. He enjoys other forms of creative writing, art and photography.
His paintings mainly cover nature subjects, particularly marine and bird live, which abound near his seaside home in Central Queensland.
