Paper Cut

That paper took me down
That page your sweet hand wrote
That paper put me on the ground
That paper tore my dried out throat
Those words it said were very true
That I was not enough for you
You always were the shining star
That I was never going far
And you were born a class above
That I did not deserve your love
The writing always on the wall
My heart would always take a fall
For you were way to good for me
My love so blind I couldn’t see
That you were simply having fun
With me one day you would be done
The words you wrote were very few
That I really didn’t have a clue
That paper broke my faithful heart
Your scribble pierced me like a dart
The pillow where you left it lay
Has turned my head another way
From now I’ll trust no other one
From love I now will always run
You showed me I’m just not cut out
To know what true love is all about
Instead I’ll live my life alone
Love’s not for me, I should have known
That paper really set me straight
The way you spelt it out
It’s time for me to teach you hate
And what real pain is all about.
