The Secret Gardens of Sandwich. Recognized as one of the finest gardens in Kent, the stunning Secret Gardens of Sandwich is open all year round. The 3.5 acres of densely planted Lutyens and Jekyll grounds are almost entirely hidden from the outside world by the ancient city walls. The grade-1 Salutation manor house sits proudly in the middle of the beautiful gardens that stretch around it.
Officially re-opened in 2007 after years of neglect, an extensive restoration and re-planting programme has transformed The Secret Gardens of Sandwich and certainly in most opinions exceeded its former glory.
The spirit and style of the original garden has been captured, boasting the beautiful White and Yellow Gardens and the elegant Bowling Lawn. Modern and contemporary features have been added including the Tropical Border and the tranquil Lake Patricia Island.
