Final Days

I doubt this poor old house will last another winter. The leaning tower of Pisa looks straight compared to this.

oh but the stories that it could tell! great shot!

  • JohnEvans replied

Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about the familly. I only knew one of the decendents who passed away about 10 years ago at about 85. It seems like she was the last of the family.

I am suprised the shutter from the camera didn’t make it fall! LOL I love the old houses though.

  • JohnEvans replied

You make me laugh. There is, even at this late stage, a certain warmth about them.

It has certainly seen better days but it makes a wonderful photo subject in this condition, well captured,
    Regards, Rod.

  • JohnEvans replied

Thanks Rod, weathered pine, like on this house, continues to develop character until the very end.

Really like the low angle here, adds even more feeling to the dereliction of this building….

  • JohnEvans replied

Thanks Steve. Your comments are always so educational, and appreciated because of that.

Cool perspective! I bet this would also look lovely in black & white and or sepia!

  • JohnEvans replied

Thanks for the suggestion Sandy. I’m really a novice (or below) when it comes to changing anything after taking a picture. I even have trouble with cropping, but I will definitely try to do this one in sepia. Thanks again.
