When I look at this old shack,…..I see a lonely cowboy,…riding horse back across the open range.
With the approaching storm,.. he`s hoping he can find shelter from it.
The big rancher`s back then would have many of those small shacks out on the open range,…They would use them when they would go out to check on their cattle,.. When you have a 4 or 5 thousand acre ranch,..It`s much to big to ride on horseback in a days time,…
These old cabins wouldn`t have much,…A straw bed or two,…..A few dry beans,a little flour,lard….and a old wood cook stove of some kind,…Usally there would be some water near by too,….a well,.or a creek that had running water most of the time.
The rancher`s really didn`t care if someone took shelter from a storm as they were riding by,….
In those day`s most people appreciated the fact,.. that there were old shacks like this,….So they didn`t do any harm to the place or take anything that was not theirs,….
