I know there’s my favourite blankie under my paws and I can feel a few bumps too. There is that close-to-the-ground human scent that I love so much in my nose … but hey, I swear I ain’t seen nothing like shoes!

Some weeks ago, I made a photoshoot with my two dogs in order to get a shot on the theme of Harvest for my photo club.

I submitted Mischief to the club’s challenge (won a silver medal), but I liked this one too and thought that I could upload it for a while.

Nikon D7000, AF Zoom Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5
Focal length 35mm, ISO-100
Aperture f/4, Shutter 1/40 sec.

Shot in manual mode, with SB-600 and shoot through umbrella from the right. Processed in Lightroom 3.3

Model: Mr. Baloo Briard , who was going to be sent to the shelter a few days later, if I had not adopted him last summer. So, he was rescued from needing to be rescued. Ha! Ha!

Hahaha! That is such a great composition! And so true, dogs do love our shoes, slippers, boots etc. So you adopted Mr. Baloo, I am certain he has found an excellent home! Great shot!

  • Thank you Joanne! He’s a big teddy bear, a great friend to Lucky and we are all very fond of him!

Great shot Johanne! What a hairdoo. I presume he does have eyes under ther somewhere? No wonder he doesn’t see any shoes! LOL

  • Thank you Wanda!

He sees fairly well during the day, but at night, it’s a different matter. He keeps attacking dirty chunks of snow during our evening walks, no doubt thinking that he is protecting us from some ferocious ennemy! LOL!

he knows which side of the street his shoes are buttered on… or something… great shot, johanne – the pile of shoes is perfectly peaked with that red one!

  • Thank you Nadine! With retrospection, I think that I should have used the left shoe instead of the right (it’s under Baloo’s chin), and put it with the toes facing the other way. It would have created a nice triangle with Baloo’s head, and the composition would have been better. Oh well, still learning! I will be more careful next time. :-)
