Old and new!
This is the best angle I could get which included both the old Christ Church on Ste-Catherine Street in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) and the KPMG Tower in the background. I had to be dead center or I would have had to be standing in the middle of the street!
The KPMG building is home to some architect and financial businesses above ground, but it is also part of the Montreal underground city, with its shopping mall and central atrium built right under the church.
As for the cathedral, is has been completed in 1859 and was designed by British architect Frank Wills, in the neo-gothic style. The shopping mall beneath the church used to be called La Place de la Cathédrale . The stone work outside of the church has been completely restored during the last 8 years, and about half of the beautiful stainglass has been replaced.
