Dreamy Morning
Depending on how we look at it, the fog can be either dark and moody or romantic and dreamy. Taking a walk in our local park, very early on a misty morning, makes me feel like I’m still dreaming, sweet, soft and romantic dreams…
I applied a slight Orton effect to enhance the already misty background of this shot made in the Parc de la Promenade in my hometown of Candiac, Quebec.

Really nice, I love the fog, you would think I could get lots of fog pictures here on the coast, but sadly no, it is rare. I love the mood of this as it fades into the background.
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Laoghaire!
I had been waiting for a fog like this for months, and now that it was finally happening, I had appointments and other obligations preventing me from grabbing my camera and going.
We don’t have it very often either, and I it be months before I had another occasion, so I decided to rearrange my schedule, postponing a few things and to go anyway. I didn’t regret it for a minute! :-)
Ursula Rodgers
Beautiful work Johanne! I love the depth of this shot, and the fog creates such a wonderful atmosphere :)
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Ursula, I’m glad that you like it. I just love foggy days! :-)
dinghysailor1
well done indeed and this is a lovely dreamy capture ! hoping theres lots more to come…
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Ding! I certainly hope that there will be more too! :-)
Julie Thomas

Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you for your kind comment, Julie!
Alessandro Pinto
gorgeous capture.. it really is magic !
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Alessandro, I appreciate your comment! :-)
Wendi Donaldson
This is beautiful…can’t decide if I like this one best or the B&W version….they’re both lovely.
We get the fog here, but so far I haven’t found a great spot to take photos….or else I’m heading off to work ….must work on that!...
Johanne Brunet replied
Sheesh, Wendi! If your work interferes with your photography, just quit your work!!! LOL!
Thank you for your kind comment! It’s really hard to choose between the two versions because the atmospheres are very different as are the feelings they express. In fact, they are two seperate shots made while standing at the same place, one in portrait and the other one in landscape.
Carole Brunet
Beautiful capture sister! The one in B&W is very great to! Very very well done.
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you, ma soeur! I’m glad you like them! Will call you tomorrow to go to Philippe’s farm in St. Philippe. :-)
Joanne Bradley
Oh I love fog shots!
Great composition and balance with the great tree to one side and we are lead through the tree trunks into the image! Very soft and moody!
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Joanne, It was not among my favourite fog shots at first, but I must admit that it’s growing on me.
Vikram Franklin
I think I favour this one more – the mood is more upbeat. I particularly like the warm tones from the leaves that gradually cool down as you look up through the pic.
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you Vikram! This illustrates better what I was feeling when I made that shot. :-)
Sue Nueckel
Oh wow this is just beautiful! Love the mood here.
Johanne Brunet replied
Thank you very much for your comment, Sue, and for the favouriting as well! :-)
Tim Sanders
