Painful Forgetfulness!

Johanne Brunet

Painful Forgetfulness!

I forget things all the time!
I forget meetings and appointments.
I forget to call and to write.
I forget to check my messages and my agenda.
I forget why I go downstairs to the basement, and I forget what I am looking for on the web.
I forget my cup of coffee in the microwave and my spaghetti sauce on the stove top.
I forget my wet laundry in the washing machine, and I also forget to go pick up my son who’s waiting for me on the other side of town.
I even forget to feed the dog.
The other day, I forgot to put the car on park before getting out and it crashed into our house…

No wonder that I forget to bring my camera with me when I go out!!!

I will need a huge notebook to copy everything that I keep forgetting all the time. And I will also need a whole box of Tylenol to soothe the pain in my poor cramped hands.

Some say that it might just be perimenopause symptoms… maybe, but my grandma died of Alzheimer’s disease 12 years ago.

I can’t help but worry a bit about all this forgetfulness.

Johanne, you have me very concerned. Great writing and image of course, but the forgetfulness has me worried. It’s one of the effects I suffer from with Parkinson’s, but hopefully with you it is just that you have so much going on. Now as for car stories, I could write a book about mine. Take care of yourself Johanne. – Cora

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Thank you Cora for your comment, and for your concern. I am worried, and I will talk to my doctor about this next time I see him. It might be the medication I’m taking for Crohn’s disease combined with a lack of sleep (can’t sleep before one or two in the morning these days, and I still get up before seven).

    Your Hosts,

    Anne-Marie & Cora

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Thank you Cora! It’s always a great honour for me to get featured in ImageWriting . I am a French spoken person and I know that sometimes my writing may seem odd and awkward, but whenever I can get my message accross in an acceptable way and get featured for it, I find it really motivating and yes, very gratifying, of course! :-)

    Anne-Marie Bok...

Johanne what a unique picture full with emotion and of course the writing adds a lot to the emotion too. Congrats on this so deserved feature. Anne-Marie

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Thank you for your kind comment Anne-Marie, and for featuring my work in ImageWriting . I used to write a lot of poetry and poetic prose when I was younger, but only in French. Writing in English, and getting my work featured is a great source of encouragement.

So sorry you are in pain…please get to a physician right away before something really
serious happens!!!! Excellent shot showing your pain!!!!!!!!!

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Thank you Sally! Actually the pain is not so bad these days, as I’ve put my jewellery making aside for a while (on sabbatical just now). It mostly when it’s cold, and the specialist says there’s not much I can do because it is associated to Crohn’s disease. Whenever the Crohn’s acts up, so does the arthritis. I must say the the memory and concentration problems are more troublesome right now… Thank you for your comment and concern! :-)

I have bouts of forgetfulness too especially when I am pulled in a million directions.

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Well that might be a large part of the problem now! Women have so many things to think about! :-)
