Stairway to Heaven

Johanne Brunet

Stairway to Heaven

View from inside the Cocathedral St-Antoine-de-Padoue in Longueuil, Quebec built between 1884 and 1887.
This beautiful construction of gothic inspiration has been designed by two architects, Albert Mesnard and Henri-Maurice Perrault. There are two asymmetrical towers in front, a very rare occurrence in Canada, although there are a few in France.

Johanne, this is a totally massive shot. I’ve only just come to realize the beauty of some of the architecture of Quebec since my daughter moved there this year, and I’m blown away. Somehow you’ve managed to get in so much variation in this shot, and your angle emphasizes it beautifully. Nice work!!

  • Johanne Brunet replied

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment, I deeply appreciate it.

merci pour ton aide j’ai un peut de difficulté dans les endroits sombre comme les église

  • Johanne Brunet replied

The was not much lighting inside and I did not want to use the flash, because there were a few worshippers in the nearby pews. I shot hand-held with high ISO and slow shutter speed and hoped for the best!

    Here is the EXIF info:
    Focal length 18mm
    ISO-1250
