The Eight
This acrylic on canvas painting was inspired by a book which I read several times, called ‘The Eight’ by Katherine Neville. It’s about a fictionous origin of chess and the power it transfered to whoever possessed the chess pieces. There is a great amount of history research in it and keeps jumpimg from past to present, but keeps you reading.Exciting till the last page.I was commissioned to do this work and it took three months to finish. It measures 120cm. X100cm.

A wonderfully detailed and intricate illustration. Next time I go to the library I will look for the book. If it is half as interesting as your illustration I will enjoy it, Fantasmagoric
