The Dream -A Protest

.The Dream – A protest
acrylics on canvas (90×90 cm)

The world is being destroyed by mankind because of pollution. The greenhouse effect is melting the poles and Earth is sinking and becoming uninhabited. The water level is rising to alarming proportions. We are responsible for this and no one lifts a finger to stop it. Third world countries are hoping to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, while others dream about birds of peace and flying horses. Animals and birds alike are dying and becoming extinct due to human greed, selfishness and arrogance. The owl in our island of Malta will soon breed no more Their habitat destroyed by developing new roads and housing estates. The media cannot succeed to go faster than the clock although it’s trying hard to stop it. Meanwhile the clocks’ hands turn into a snake that will bite the media The switch on the top left hand side can be turned off or on easily enough. It’s eight o’clock time to get up for work, that was only dream. Sometimes dreams come true; think about it now, before it is too late.

An incredibly powerful painting. I love all of the layers of meaning and metaphor. This is one that I could stare at for hours and continually discover something new. It amazes me how you can make such a striking and moving statement with such a beautiful and visually and well as emotionally intriguing and evocative work of art. Totally incredible and awe inspiring. You are an amazingly talented artist Joseph with such a strong, unique, gorgeous and easily recognizable style…none of which are easy for any artist to obtain.
