Wonderful specimin and capture!
Thank you Pauline, glad you like this one, the camera was set on the A-DEP, it give a nice color contrast with the 100mm macro lens

I still haven’t eiher researched or tried A-DEP. I assumed that it was to do with depth of field – obviously wrongly!
It’s all good Pauline, A-DEP = Auto depth of field.
All the focus squares are used to find the nearest and farthest objects in your viewfinder. The camera then calculates the best setting to give you the ideal depth of field, some times works better than other time, trial and miss, basically learning from experimenting
Sounds really good Joel – I must find it and give it a go!
Glad to see you fonded it, cheers
Opal in it’s natural state…how interesting! Did you find it or see it in a display somewhere?
Well, I do have those opals for over 15 years and they are in a kind of bird bath outside with water in it, there is about 30 medium and small boulders, for the 1st time I’m polishing some, using an hand drill with a fine stone wheel, and then hand sanding, it takes time but it’s fun to do.
This is awesome Joel. One click of the banner will take you to the group. Your work is welcome here and please enjoy it.
Thanks DG, glad you like opals
