Not So Living Room
The Wood Family Farmhouse was built in 1866. Some time after the civil war the family lost all their investments and sold the home and farmland to the Harris family. The last occupant, Mrs. Harris passed away in the house in the late 1970’s, and the house has been left alone ever since.

Ann Rodriquez
Very interesting, I recognize this from another photo website – unmistakably the same chairs and fireplace that this other photographer stumbled on in her bridal shoot! Imagine a bride in the chair on the right. : ) That’s kinda nuts, what are the chances?! : )
That said, I’m really impressed with this rendition of the scene. Very powerful and ‘alive.’ Great colors and textures. Impressive, Joel, impressive!
Joel Hall replied
Thanks so much Ann! Interesting about the wedding shoot. I wish you knew where you saw thing, I would love to see that! I am actually planning on going back to do a model shoot, as soon as I find a model :p
Ann Rodriquez
LOL – if I were close, I’d volunteer. I’d love to go there! : ) I’ll look on the other site and see if I can find it again – fascinating, isn’t it?!
Joel Hall replied
Cool! Yeah, well you could send me a pic of u and i’ll digitally edit you into my pics. haha. Actually that reminds me of some story on the news about images over on flickr with a couple who were actually never together or never met, they just combined their pics in photoshop and nobody new. kinda cool
Ann Rodriquez
After a bunch of searching, I found it! Can you view this?
Joel Hall replied
Whoa so cool! What are the chances. Thanks so much for showing me this! How do you like that site by the way? I had to joint to send that user a message, but I’m not sure if i’ll use it or not
budrfli
wonderful color and comp, great to have the history with it!
Joel Hall replied
Thanks! I was lucky enough to have a neighbor come out while I was packing up and tell me about it :)
Ann Rodriquez
Joel, that would be funny…I’ll have to send you a pic of me sitting in a chair and see if you can make it match so it looks like I’m in THAT chair. LOL : ) Funny about the Flickr thing!
I love SOA – there’s a lot of it that I don’t really utilize that much (partly because I’m part of RB and Black River Landing too), but my favorite part is the message board. I LOVE that I can have a question about photoshop, exposure, how to set up a shot, equipment or any number of other things, type it into a thread on the message board and get almost instant answers. That’s incredible! Everyone seems more than willing to share their experiences. I’ve learned SO MUCH by participating there. That’s my take! : )
Joel Hall replied
haha, that will be neat. As for SOA I joined and created an account. I added this set and my fort story set. I’ll have to play with it more when I am home from work :p Looks interesting though, plus I like the way you can customize albums and then share it with people (friends, family, etc).
Maria Dryfhout
Love this mess!
Joel Hall replied
Thanks Maria, lol. It was a mess!
Marita McVeigh
wow, very interesting,
Joel Hall replied
Thanks for the visit and comment Marita!
Ann Rodriquez
Joel, honestly it seems to me that RB is simpler for creating ‘albums’ for people to view – in the form of galleries on my bubblesite. I actually have my domain name, www.reflections-of-life.net, set up to lead to my bubblesite right now! But yes, SOA is addictive, for sure! : )
Leslie Lippert
I found you on SOAPhoto, commenting on the bride shot in this same farmhouse. I love what you do with your photos. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this. I’m all about photography but I still have alot to learn. Would love to learn about your technique.
Leslie
Joel Hall replied
Thanks Leslie, glad you looked me up! :) Feel free to Bubblemail me if you want to know about my technique I used
NoirK9
