Beach Day

A line of beach chairs and umbrellas outside of our hotel during our vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I created an HDR with 3 exposures, then combined it with one of the exposures using the HDR shot only in the sky and water, and finally cropped it.

Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm @ 13mm
Exposure: f4.4, ISO200
Processing: Photoshop CS3, Photomatix, Redynamix
Technique: 3-exposure HDR on Tripod

Great shot!! How early did you have to shoot that to have all the chairs empty?

Thanks Jeff, it was not all that early, maybe 9ish. Being off season, the beach was never really that crowded anyway, and those who were there were lazy and didn’t seem to wake up and get out there until close to noon :P

Plus I was waiting for the life guards to finish setting them up, hoping nobody would come and sit in one before they finished and I could take the shot!
