Alone...
Single Pronghorn, sitting in snow covered field…this was one among a pretty good sized herd. Most of the them took off when I got close, this one just crouched down. This guy was shot in the San Luis Valley, near Monte Vista, Colorado.
shot with a Kodak Easyshare Z 612, posted straight from the camera

Jody Johnson replied
thanks for the comments…wolves? Not sure, I would expect so, there are bear and mountain lion…I know the wolves have re-released in hopes of increasing the population.

Pretty good shot of a pronghorn – amazing that you could get that close.
Jody Johnson replied
I really wasn’t that close, shot from the road in my car actually, about 50 yds. at least.

Superb! You look so close to it! It’s amazing how well his colours match his surroundings.

He almost looks younger, with the fuzzy hair on the top of his head. And I know that young elk can’t outrun bears/predators so they just hide…either he was older and braver or younger. Cute shot though.
Jody Johnson replied
the whole herd was rather thin, a very tough winter for him. The ones I shot last time, were better fed, they live on the other side of the mountains though where it has more pasture lands…poor little guy!
