A Business Point of View by

Taken at lunchtime in the City of Sydney – June 2011.

I thought this angle was appropriate as a shoe shine man would not be concentrating on the faces approaching but rather the feet.

Hopefully in these days of sneakers and flip-flops there is still some money to be made with shoe shines! Wonderful capture Jodie with the great focus on the subject and keeping a blurred movement with those in the background. Sandy

  • Thanks Sandy, it is winter here so hopefully the businessmen will be in dress shoes! I don’t like taking photos of homeless people but figured this was ok as it was from behind.

Really nice study in movement and blur vs. your subject sitting still. And I love it in black and white :) Nice one, Jodie!

  • Thanks Jen, tried to bring the two worlds together.

This is a well thought out shot, I quite like it and I like your B&W conversion.
I’m heading into the city on Friday for some street shooting for a photography assignment. Love the city, there’s always something.

  • Thanks Nicole, glad you understand it. Have fun in the city!

Love this, the people walking and the whole “time stood still” feel that it has….

Very poignant Jodie, a great street study – love the movement to the passersby, it portrays that feeling of people rushing by him all day, some deliberately averting their gaze…..
