Colours are somewhat more realistic. Taking out the blue makes it a warmer image. Comes down to personal preference

  • the first one is actually closer to what came out the camera mate, in both I have merger 3 images together.

Love the colours and reflections. The grey one best.

  • thank you Elaine, I think I do too, but the blueish one is so much closer to the original

While the colour balance has assisted the foreground, its the “blue” version I like.

… …. After looking and comparing for a while, I think the reason initially for my preference is the blue version is a bit darker which affects two areas…in this one the very base of the lighthouse is a little too light and the tiny piece of sunshine that just “squeaks thru” between the lighthouse and the small building is more noticeable and detracts from the main sunset focus. So perhaps a small bit of cloning to get rid of that tiny strip of sunlight, and a small amount of “burning” at the very base of the lighthouse..and then this will be “The Image”…. hopefully I have not confused anyone here… as I think the two very small points are the differnce between a very good image and a magnificent one.

  • thanks Jim, really appreciate the feedback, I will try it tomorrow.
