This photograph was taken at Willow Court (Tasmania, Australia).

Willow Court is is an asylum that was abandoned in the year 2000. Like the Royal Derwent, it is also in the town of New Norfolk. However, this part of the large complex is much older and dates back to 1827. For information on the interesting history of Willow Court, follow this link:;

This paticular photograph was taken in Ward C, which was used to contain and look after violant male patients. This ward has a reputation for being haunted. For related stories, follow this link:;

Photography is my ‘passion’. I studied it in years 11 and 12, where I learned how to processes films in the dark room. Since then, my photography was restricted to digital compacts until I was able to afford an DSLR in 2010.

Until recently I had been doing a PhD in Agricultural Science at the University of Tasmania. I have recently decided that a career in science is not going to make me happy, so I am now studying graphic design.
