This photograph was taken at Royal Derwent which was an asylum in Tasmania, Australia. Here is a website for further information:

This paticular photograph was taken in ward 12, which now belongs to developers who plan to demolish it. The purpose of this ward was once admissions and storage for medical supplies/ a place for some treatments.

The mystery surrouding this collection of abandoned wards regards stories of ghosts and hauntings….For those interested, this website may be of interest:

Camera: Canon EOS 60D
Lens: Canon EF 10-22mm

Photography is my ‘passion’. I studied it in years 11 and 12, where I learned how to processes films in the dark room. Since then, my photography was restricted to digital compacts until I was able to afford an DSLR in 2010.

Until recently I had been doing a PhD in Agricultural Science at the University of Tasmania. I have recently decided that a career in science is not going to make me happy, so I am now studying graphic design.
