CUFFED AND STUFFED, GIVE ME BACK MY SON!

Where is my child, who laughed and played,
and had a zest for life?
Splashes in the tub, played with toys,
so much fun riding bikes.

Where is my child, who couldn’t wait
for Easter, Christmas, and Halloween?
Where is my child, who lost his way,
when he became a teen.

So many mistakes, such foolish ideas .
He tried to make his own rules.
He wanted to be one of the group,
hardheaded, defiant fools!

I will not stop waiting for him,
his my beloved son, you see.
I will cherish our moments of love together.
Give my son back to me!

A heartfelt poem written about all young males who have lost their way, and what it feels like to be the parent of a child in jail.
