Blowing snow
Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 18-200mm lens
Promenade Église St-Eustache, St-Eustache, QC CANADA
overlooking the lake of Deux-Montagnes

Currently we are in a deep freeze across most of Canada but particularly in the east, Ontario and Québec.
This morning it was minus 29 outside with a wind chill factor of minus 40.
Fortunately I only have to walk 4 minutes to work!
This past weekend, although not as cold, we experienced strong winds and blowing snow. Some highways had little to no visibility.

Fantastic capture of a blizzard Joanne…

  • Thanks Janis! Winter can be so brutal and yet so beautuiful all at the same time! :-)

Wow, Joanne, you totally captured that blizzard with the wind and snow blowing about…really nicely taken!

  • Well winter is certainly giving us lots to talk about and lots to see this year! Thanks Kat!

Whoa, are those park benches literally covered up to their elbows in snow? That’s quite awe inspiring, Joanne, and beautiful, too.

  • Thanks Frannie! Yes those benches are already knee deep in snow. That is a promenade overlooking the lake and so pretty in the summer. Doesn’t look too inviting now, at least I didn’t venture any closer!

Lovely composition Ms. Joanne! I send my regards.

  • Hi Ms DebraLee! Thanks so much for the visit and comment! Please accept my late Happy New Years best wishes, I know you posted me some NY’s greetings but my mom was hospitalized at the time and I was just not responding. She is much better now!

I’m surprised that the sky is so blue when it’s obviously blowing a gale! I wouldn’t like to be living somewhere that gets so cold, I think I’ll stick to the 40degree days that we’ve been having.

    A very pretty image!

  • Thanks Linda! The snow was blowing close to the ground but the sun was shining and the sky was blue above that! Thanks for the greeting, visit and comment!
