A one tree installation in a front yard!

Maple syrup is a syrup usually made from the sap of sugar maple, red maple or black maple trees. In cold climate areas, these trees store starch in their stems and roots before the winter; the starch is then converted to sugar and rises in the sap in the spring. Maple trees can be tapped and the exuded sap collected and concentrated by heating to evaporate the water. Quebec, Canada, produces most of the world’s supply of maple syrup.

I love the textures here Joanne..I have never seen a tree tapped in a front yard…there are maples in almost every front yard here..this is a first for me…maybe we should have a neighbourhood joint tap…

  • No kidding, Janis that would be grea and beneficial for the whole street!
I I had never seen it before either! Thanks for the comment!

The burnt orange background and it’s reflection in the bucket cover make this an appealing, natural abstract for me, Joanne.

My tongue is of course out for a drop of that golden goodness….

It fascinates me how the whole thing works, I know here if the sap was sweet in a tree it’d be swarming with ants, lorikeets, possums and other assorted wildlife! Thanks for the info, and interesting image to go with it, Joanne!
