Olympic Stadium ~ Montreal
Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens
The Jardin Botanique, in Montreal Canada, is located right beside this infamous structure and I couldn’t help myself. I understand after a few years of closure that the elevator is now functioning again, so I plan a trip to the top in the fall. Haven’t been up there in years…
The Olympic Stadium (French: Stade olympique) is a multi-purpose stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics. It subsequently became the home of Montreal’s professional baseball and Canadian football teams. Since the Montreal Expos relocated to Washington, D.C. in 2004 (and prior, the Montreal Alouettes second departure in 1997), the stadium has had no main tenant, and with a history of financial and structural problems, is largely seen as a white elephant. It currently serves as a 56,040-seat multipurpose facility for special events (e.g. concerts, trade shows) during non-winter months, and continues to serve as a venue for Grey Cup games hosted by the Montreal Alouettes. La tour de Montreal, the tower incorporated into the base of the stadium, is the tallest inclined tower in the world at 175 metres, and is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.

Just for a minute there, I thought you’d made it to Beijing!
Interesting information supplied – always thought they were white elephants after the show of shows, but your info is validation. Unbelievable incline to this thing – you’d expect it to fall.
