An early start meant I had the mountain to myself on a suprisingly pleasant February morning. The snow was knee deep in places and the sky changed constantly as the clouds came and went. The gate and fence lead the eye into the picture.
Skiddaw is just over 3000 feet high making it the 4th highest mountain in England. The route following Wainright’s directions from Keswick is straight forward and is five and a half miles in length.
