I am a Russian painter working plein air in oil, pastels and oil pastels. I was strongly influenced by the art of French and American impressionists, Monet, Sisley, Childe Hassam and Theodore Robinson. I also took classes with Lois Griffel, former director of Cape Cod School of Art, a student of the outstanding American painter Henry Hensche. My goal as a painter is to study color and color relationships in a landscape and outdoor still life. In my works I am searching for color harmony in nature trying to find interesting colors in different light keys, the time of the day and season. I also developed my own technique in oil pastels and love to do fast sketches in this medium. Currently i live in Crozet, Virginia, USA.
