I took classes with Lois Griffel, former director of Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA, USA in 2001. Since then i have been working plein air doing landscapes and outdoor still life. My works are in colletions in Russia, Canada, Italy and USA.

Wow, Julia, your use of the yellow/ violet complements as accent for the analogous blue through green background makes this composition sing. Nice work. Sally

  • Thanks Sally! I tried to minimize the range between values and rely solely on color variations

Hi Julia, this is a really pleasing piece. It’s all shimmering light, no deep dark colours at all, just the illusion of depth through blues. It makes a world out of light, almost as if it were a hasty glimpse of another planet through a spaceship’s monitor. But it’s our planet! And it does make me feel as if we have a home, and a lovely one, at that. First class stuff.
