Autumn trees, oil on canvas, 32×24 inches, 2006, plein air

I am a Russian oil painter, working plein air in oil and oil pastels. I was immensely influenced by French and American impressionists, Monet, Renoir, Hassam, Roninson, Cassat, Henry Hensche. I took classes with Lois Griffel, former director of Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA, USA in 2001. Since then i have been working plein air doing landscapes and outdoor still life. My works are in colletions in Russia, Canada, Italy and USA.

    Jim, thank you! Sometimes the winter scenes limit you to low-key palette, but the fall here in Virginia is gorgeous! So many colors around!
