woowhoooo! outstanding!I was driving a group of kids to go creek hiking one time when a crow flew overhead with a HUGE snake….nothing like explaining THAT one to little innocents…lollove this hawks expression
Great capture! Aptly named. Was he checking you out?
i was on break working for the Gainesville Sun and walking to my car when he came soaring overhead with the snake in talons. he landed on a tree 20 feet from my car. i was lucky to have enough time to get my camera out, mount the 300mm and get two shots off before he flew away.

exquisite lighting and colour James … this feels so alive and real (if you know what I mean) … so vibrantly beautiful.
cracking shot as ever JK.
Funny! Great shot! Imaginative title, too.
SUCH a beautiful image … I’m as much in love with the colorful bokeh as I am your exquisite hawk capture!!!!! Gorgeous!!!! Just read your note to Kathleen … I can just see you bustling around .. fast and frantic … and then getting off this fantastic shot!!!! YAY!!!!
i was frantic in my head, but tried to keep my body motions slow and steady as not to startle him.
Detail, color and kill, all very vivid in this wonderful capture. It’s a Godsend when you are able to capture an image like this. Bet you even held your breath. Instant FAV Barb
