Grist Mill

Mingus grist mill, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

One of the most photographed structures in the park, this historic grist mill combines my interest in photography and my interest in U.S. history. I chose to sepia tone the image to create a more vintage feel as though it was taken the year it was constructed (1886) despite the long depth of field.

Image currently featured in AMERICA’s National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat group.

Grist Mill belongs to the following groups:

AMERICA's National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat, History, Human and Nature, Mills & Mines, National Parks of the World & Great Parks Of The World, Nostalgic Art and Photography, Ohio Photographers Group, Smoky Mountain Masterpieces and United States Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints and Framed Prints

This is a wonderful work of art. The Sepia tone really makes it jump. I am not real good at shooting stuff like this but I sure admire those that can.

Thanks, Gary. Sorry about the Vols season this year. It’s not really the coach’s fault. Better luck next year.
